Currently living in Montclair, New Jersey, Joe Bussey is a professional bass player in the NYC, New Jersey area. He performs regularly with the French gypsy band Manouche Bag, gypsy guitar virtuoso Stephane Wrembel, and the R&B band The PJB's. His performance credits include jazz singers Lezlie Harrison, Champian Fulton, Lauren Henderson, Marianne Sullivan and many others. Jazz instrumentalist performance credits include Tom Harrell, Robert Glasper, Ty Sean Sorrey, Jeremy Pelt, and Jerry Weldon to name only a few. From 2005 to 2013 he was the bass player for the Gospel legend Joshua Nelson. Joe graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts in 2000 with a BM degree in Jazz Performance specializing in upright and electric bass. Joe also doubles on guitar and performs with it regularly. He studied ear training and classical piano with Jeff Goldstein from 2000 to 2010 and has a full teaching studio of bass, piano and guitar students.
